Last weekend, the boxing world witnessed a major upset as Daniel Dubois knocked out Anthony Joshua in the 5th round. A rematch between ‘AJ’ and ‘Triple D’ is already being discussed. Many celebrities, including boxing star Devin Haney, attended the epic showdown at Wembley Stadium. Tensions ran high as Eddie Hearn and Haney got into a heated argument during the event.
The Matchroom Boxing promoter previously had a good relationship with Haney when Haney was under his promotion. However, the controversy between ‘The Dream’ and Hearn began over a ticket dispute. Haney publicly criticized Hearn for not providing tickets, even calling him a fake. In response, Hearn directly confronted Haney, saying, “Ask someone else and drop the arrogance.”
In a recent conversation with Boxing News, Eddie Hearn revealed that the exchange with Devin Haney was heated, and he was shocked when Haney publicly criticized him on social media. This led to Hearn confronting Haney directly, an incident that was caught by fans, many of whom noticed it wasn’t a normal conversation. Explaining the situation, Hearn said,
“So then I’m sitting there at the show and he’s like ‘Wow, Eddie Hearn didn’t get me tickets, he’s so two-faced’. So I just replied saying ‘you’re an arrogant fu***g p***k’. I pulled him at the show and said ‘what do you think you’re doing?’ He said ‘hey hey’, and I said ‘no, not hey hey… what are you doing?’”
“I said: ‘one, you couldn’t be more arrogant, two, why aren’t you messaging me asking if I’m sure I can’t sort something out? Instead you put a Tweet out? You’re like a little kid’.”

Eddie Hearn Reveals Top 3 Potential Opponents for Anthony Joshua’s Next Fight
Joshua suffered one of the most significant defeats of his career in front of a crowd of over 98,000. In his first title defense, ‘Triple D’ delivered an electrifying performance, knocking out ‘AJ’ in Round 5 to claim a KO victory. While many speculated that ‘AJ’ might consider retirement, he has chosen not to. Additionally, Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has suggested three potential opponents for the 34-year-old fighter.
Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder, and a rematch with Dubois are being considered for Joshua’s next fight. Hearn revealed that Joshua has a rematch clause with Dubois, making it a likely option. However, a showdown with Fury or Wilder would also be a massive event.
However, with Fury set to face Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch this December, the big question is what’s next for Joshua. As he’s nearing the end of his career, he’s likely looking to finish strong by winning 2-3 more fights. The future remains uncertain, and seeing which opponent Joshua chooses next will be interesting.
