This is incredibly heartbreaking.
This past Saturday, junior middleweight boxer Patrick Day was said to have taken quite a beating throughout his bout with Charles Conwell at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, which led to a devastating left hook 1:46 into the round that left Day unconscious and in need of medical attention.
Day had to be put on a stretcher and would soon suffer a seizure on his way to the hospital. He would be put in a medically induced coma and his health never got any better in the coming days.
On Wednesday, it was reported that Day had tragically passed away from his injuries.

According to the statement, Day succumbed to the traumatic brain injury he suffered in his title bout loss to defending champion Charles Conwell.
“On behalf of Patrick’s family, team, and those closest to him, we are grateful for the prayers, expressions of support and outpouring of love for Pat that have been so obvious since his injury,” the statement read.
He was just 27-years-old.
