Tonight the boxing event on Friday, March 29, at around 11 p.m. ET/ 8 p.m. PT, ESPN+ will exclusively broadcast the Valdez vs. Wilson & Estrada vs. Valle matches live from Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. In the main event, Mexican boxer Oscar Valdez will go head-to-head with Australian former world title contender Liam Wilson in a 12-round junior lightweight bout.
Boxing Match Tonight: Oscar Valdez vs Liam Wilson
Valdez, hailing from Nogales, represented Mexico in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics and has clinched world titles in two weight divisions during his professional career. Following a competitive bout against Robson Conceição in 2021, Valdez suffered his first professional defeat in a unification match against Shakur Stevenson in 2022.
Despite this setback, he secured a decision victory in a rematch against Adam Lopez in May 2023 but then faced a points loss against Emanuel Navarrete last August. On the other hand, Wilson, a seasoned five-year pro, made his U.S. debut against Navarrete for the vacant WBO junior lightweight title last February.
Despite dropping Navarrete and coming close to an upset in the fourth round, he was stopped in the ninth. Wilson bounced back with wins over Carlos Alanis in August and Jackson Jon England in December.
