The boxing world has witnessed a ton of action this past weekend. Teofimo Lopez defended his title against Steve Claggett and called for a unification matchup against Issac Cruz. Jesse Rodriguez knocked out Juan Fransisco Estrada, and the duo seems destined for a rematch, as there is a clause.
As it turns out, several boxers are all set to enter the ring and collide next weekend. In this write-up, let’s see which boxers will lock horns inside the squared circle.
Boxing Schedule of the Week
Several high-profile boxing events are happening this weekend in the USA, Canada, and Japan. Shakur Stevenson will defend his WBC lightweight title against Artem Harutyunyan in Newark, New Jersey, on July 6. O’Shaquie Foster vs. Robson Conceicao, for Foster’s WBC junior lightweight title, is on the co-main event of Stevenson vs. Harutyunyan.
William Zepeda will be looking to protect his undefeated record against Giovanni Cabrera, whose only loss is to Issac Cruz, on the same date in Ontario, California. Johnny Fisher, the undefeated Brit, will also fight on July 6, but in London, against Alen Babić. Babić’s only loss was in a WBC Bridgerweight title fight to Łukasz Różański.
Also in California, USA, Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal will rematch inside the boxing ring after their first fight inside the octagon ended in the latter’s favor at UFC 244. On July 7, WBA champion Kazuto Ioka will take on IBF champion Fernando Martínez in Japan’s super flyweight title unification bout in Japan.
