Ryan Garcia will face Devin Haney, the WBC junior welterweight champion and one of boxing’s brightest rising talents. The bout will occur on Saturday at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center (8 p.m. ET, DAZN PPV & PPV.com).
For the first time in his career, Garcia is vying for a world title, and he hopes to build on his stoppage loss to Gervonta “Tank” Davis in April 2023, which was a great box office draw and a significant blow for Garcia’s career. Haney, meanwhile, is attempting to defend the championship for the first time after defeating Regis Prograis via unanimous decision in December.

Devin Haney’s Take On Fighting Ryan Garcia
Devin Haney is one of the fittest boxers in the world right now, at least according to the top boxing community. In December, he won the WBC 140-pound title after putting on a faultless performance against the former undisputed lightweight champion Regis Prograis, solidifying his status as one of the top fighters in the sport.
The winner is optimistic that switching to ultralightweight has significantly improved his performance, especially considering how difficult it was for him to reach 135 pounds. But he won’t agree that Garcia’s decision to drop to 136 pounds for his bout against Gervonta “Tank” Davis is a good enough reason for Garcia’s April knockout loss.
Online bookmaker William Hill rates Haney as a 1/9 (-900) favorite, while Garcia is listed at 11/2 (+550); the draw is 20/1 (+2000).

Recently, the two fighters got into a physical altercation. Having a solid story behind a fight is always something that keeps the fans interested in anticipating the upcoming bout. But it may be different in this case.
Devin Haney shared a post on his Instagram handle, captioning it as, “ Not a conspiracy… Ryan is a hoe! 4 days.
Live on DAZN!”
It’s terrible that Garcia’s mental state, or rather his outlook in general, has overshadowed this battle. When Haney vs. Garcia was first being discussed, it was a pretty exciting bout that demonstrated Garcia’s spirit and will to pursue big fights even after Davis stopped him.
