Canelo Alvarez and Floyd Mayweather are considered two of this generation’s greatest boxers. The Mexican and Mayweather are multiple-weight world champions and have cemented themselves in the sport’s history.
While Alvarez is set to return to the squared circle this weekend, Mayweather retired from professional boxing in 2017.
Often, fans draw parallels between Canelo Alvarez and Floyd Mayweather. Alvarez has a professional record of 60-2-2. Conversely, Mayweather retired with a perfect record of 50-0.
Interestingly, Alvarez suffered his first professional boxing loss against Floyd Mayweather back in 2013. The bout remains to be one of the biggest fights to have ever taken place in the history of boxing.
That said, both fighters have a great boxing record. However, Floyd Mayweather does seem to have an edge, considering that he remained undefeated throughout his career.
