Where could Jimmy Garoppolo end up?
The 49ers officially have restarted their efforts to trade Jimmy Garoppolo after the team gave his agents permission to seek a trade. According to Adam Schefter, Garoppolo has been cleared to start practicing as well but the team is expected to be cautious as he continues to recover from shoulder surgery. He’s expected to be fully cleared in mid-August.
The Atlanta Falcons have experienced an offseason full of change at the quarterback position. After moving 14-year starter Matt Ryan to the Indianapolis Colts in March, the team quickly added veteran free agent Marcus Mariota and later drafted Cincinnati’s Desmond Ridder in the third round.
According to Heavy, the Falcons are potentially in the market for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
“Don’t be surprised if the Falcons jump in,” Heavy’s Matt Lombardo tweeted. “You aren’t going to know about Desmond Ridder for two or three years, at best, and they can’t afford to wait that long.”
Atlanta Falcons analyst Cam Marino added that the Falcons are one of five teams that have called about Jimmy G.
