The Seattle Seahawks hold a 5-9 record following their 20-10 defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams and are all but out of playoff contention. Russell Wilson completed 17-of-31 passes for 156 yards and one interception on Tuesday against the Rams.
This will be the first time that Wilson will end a year with a losing record since being under center for the Seattle Seahawks.
On top of that, it appears his time with the franchise will be coming to an end.
According to Jason La Canfora, league sources say there’s little to no chance of an extension for him this offseason. The veteran QB has two years left on his deal, but many believe Wilson be traded elsewhere once the season is over.
It almost happened last offseason after Wilson voiced his displeasure publicly about the team, and the way this season has gone, it appears a divorce is on the horizon.
A blockbuster trade remains a very real possibility, according to La Canfora. Wilson reportedly has updated the list of teams he would waive his no-trade clause for to include the Broncos, Giants and Saints.
Following the game, quarterback Russell Wilson shared his thoughts on Seattle’s first losing season since 2011, the year before his draft selection.

“It’s definitely disappointing,” Wilson said. “I think that this season has been tough just in general, everything going on with everyone and just, life and… there’s a lot of real situations out there going on, and COVID. I think for us, the only thing that we can do is get ready for tomorrow, wake up tomorrow, and give everything we have. That’s what our job is to do is to wake up and give everything we have every day. That’s all I know.”
The 33-year-old has played in 11 games this season and tossed for 2,458 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions.
