The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were one of the first teams in the NFL to announce that they had achieved 100 percent vaccination status for their entire roster over the summer. It was quite the feat for the defending champions…or so we thought.
Based on today’s breaking news, it turns out that they were never 100 percent vaccinated, thanks to two rather selfish players: Wide receiver Antonio Brown and safety Mike Edwards.
Both players, along with free agent wide receiver John Franklin III, were suspended for three games by the NFL earlier today because they “misrepresented their vaccination status under the NFL-NFLPA COVID-19 Protocols.”
The three players were suspected of lying about their vaccination status and providing the team and the league with fake proofs of vaccination. After a careful review by the league and the NFLPA, it was confirmed that all three players had, in fact, lied about their vaccination status and they were subsequently suspended without pay.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have since released a statement regarding the issue, as all three players were members of their team during training camp:

For the time being, Brown and Edwards are still with the team, but that could certainly change over the coming hours or days.
It would not shock us at all if the Bucs decided to cut both players for lying. This is clearly an issue that the league and the NFLPA both agree should be taken seriously, and you’d have to think that the players in the Bucs’ locker room (especially Tom Brady) won’t being lied to by their teammates about a serious health matter that affects them all.
