The Las Vegas will most certainly start their for a new head coach after the year is out as they are likely to move on from interim head coach Rich Bisaccia in the offseason.
Head coach Sean McVay is one of the most respected offensive minds in the NFL and he appears to be happy and set with the Los Angeles Rams, but that could change if the team doesn’t win a Super Bowl as they have mortaged their future by trading away draft picks.
Raiders beat writer Ed Graney of the Las Vegas Review-Journal is now suggesting a crazy trade where the Raiders trade draft picks to the Rams to land McVay.
“Think about it. The Rams next have a draft pick in like 2054, so why not have Davis really act the part of his gambling father and ship a bunch of high selections to Los Angeles and lure McVay to Las Vegas? Boy Wonder does buffets,” Graney wrote.
McVay would have to approve such a deal and it would likely mean the Raiders having to redo his contract. Considering they gave Jon Gruden 10 years and $100 million, it will likely be around that number as well.
The last NFL head coach to be traded was Gruden when the Raiders shipped him off to Tampa Bay via a high-stakes trade that included Tampa Bay’s 2002 and 2003 first-round draft picks, 2002 and 2004 second-round draft picks, and $8 million in cash.
The current Raiders team is fresh off a huge Thanksgiving victory over the Dallas Cowboys that saw Derek Carr toss for 373 yards. The win put their recvord at 6-5 and kept them within striking distance in the AFC West.
