Earlier this week, former Los Angeles Lakers point guard Dennis Schroder agreed to a one-year, $5.9 million contract with the Boston Celtics.
He has been the subject of constant mocking after he turned down an $84 million extension from the Lakers to pursue an even bigger deal in the offseason. It did not work well for him at all.
His wife has since taken to social media to fire back at his haters.
“I’m so proud of my husband that he made this decision to stay true to himself and to fight for his goals and his vision! I know not everyone understands this. They would choose money before anything else. But let me tell you: Show some love, be patient, and watch what will happen next.”
Schroder was acquired by L.A. last offseason in a trade for Danny Green and a draft pick.
Schroder averaged 15.4 points and 5.8 assists in 61 games for the Lakers, but he did himself no favors in the postseason when he averaged 14.3 points and shot just 40% from the field and 30.3% from the 3-point line in the Lakers’ loss to the Phoenix Suns in six games in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
