The bombshell New York Times report has the Worldwide Leader In Sports dealing with major controversy that has swept through the company.
Among the many to weigh in on the matter is Holly Rowe.
On Sunday afternoon, Rowe took to Twitter and clearly chose a side when she said that Maria Taylor deserves every job she has received for her ability. She didn’t have to call out Rachel Nichols to let you know this was about her situation.
“Maria Taylor deserves every job she is given because of her ABILITY. Period,” Rowe wrote. “Keep shining!!! @MariaTaylor”
According to the New York Times, Nichols made comments about Maria Taylor in July 2020 after ESPN told her that Taylor would be hosting coverage of the NBA Finals instead of her. Nichols would soon seek advice from LeBron James’ longtime advisor Adam Mendelsohn and James’ agent Rich Paul on a call that was reportedly accidentally recorded because Nichols hadn’t turned her video camera off.
During the call, Nichols can be heard saying that she feels like Taylor is only being promoted over her due to ESPN’s long and terrible record on diversity.

“I wish Maria Taylor all the success in the world — she covers football, she covers basketball,” Nichols said in July 2020 via the New York Times. “If you need to give her more things to do because you are feeling pressure about your crappy longtime record on diversity — which, by the way, I know personally from the female side of it — like, go for it. Just find it somewhere else. You are not going to find it from me or taking my thing away.”
