NCAA athletes are allowed to make money off of their name, image, and likeness, including endorsements starting July 1st.
Olivia Dunne is well known on social media in a huge way, and now all of that attention she gets can make her one of the highest paid college athletes in the entire country. The LSU gymnast has more than 1.1 million Instagram and TikTok followers, the only NCAA athlete to amass that amount of followers on both platforms.
Action Network’s Darren Rovell ranked the athletes in the best position to capitalize from their NLI, and Dunne was ranked No. 2, behind only Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler.
In fact, Rovell is hearing that Dunne could make more than $1 million.
Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger says it’s likely Dunne will bring in more cash than any other college athlete.

Benjamin Oduro, a talent booker with International Talent Agency LLC, told WBRZ in Baton Rouge the money for athletes like Dunne could pile up fast. “I’ve seen contracts around $150,000 for two tweets a week for a year, but I’ve also seen clients receive around $1,500 per tweet,” Oduro told the station.
LSU says they will allow for athletes to use the university’s logo or facilities, as long as they get permission first.
