Last offseason, the Carolina Panthers parted ways with Cam Newton and signed free agent quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to a three-year, $63 million deal.
It did not work out right away as the team finished 5-11 on the year, good for 3rd place in the NFC South. Bridgewater threw for 3,733 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He also rushed for 279 yards and five touchdowns with six fumbles included.
Cutting Bridgewater this offseason would cost Carolina $20 million in dead cap. If they were to go another route and try to trade for Deshaun Watson, it appears their RB might be well ahead of them.
Just recently, Christian McCaffrey simply commented on a post by the Houston Texans QB and it had folks in the comments calling him out for tampering.
