This time around, it has to do with an interview he had with GQ Magazine where he was essentially taking shots at Daniel Jones being drafted by the New York Giants so high and having a below average record while playing for the Duke Blue Devils.
“Some people overthink it,” Mayfield told the magazine in a long feature. “That’s where people go wrong. They forget you’ve gotta win.”
“I cannot believe the Giants took Daniel Jones.”
“Either you have a history of winning and being that guy for your team, or you don’t,” said Mayfield.
Hours later after the article went out, the Cleveland Browns quarterback took to Instagram and fired off at the media for making a non-story into a story.
