Back in November, Dwight Howard had his character attacked when accusations from a transgender surfaced on Twitter that accused him of being part of trans sex parties as well as other things.
Masin Elije would soon file a lawsuit against Howard for assault, infliction of emotional distress and more. The lawsuit alleged “Mr. Elije started receiving threats to his safety and well-being via a multitude of phone calls, text messages, communications on various social media platforms and emails, all of which were from unfamiliar or disguised sources.”
The then-Washington Wizards star filed a counter-suit on the YouTuber for slander, invasion of privacy and abusive litigation and demanded the suit be thrown out. He was dealt a vicious blow by the judge on the case.
Via Bossip:
“A judge has nixed NBA player Dwight Howard’s bid to dismiss a homosexual social media star’s lawsuit that alleges Howard threatened him over speaking out about their alleged relationship.
…according to court records obtained by BOSSIP, the judge came back and sided with Elije, and denied Howard’s request for the man’s suit to be tossed. The case is now ongoing, although no trial date has been set.
We reached out Elije’s attorney for comment. Howard’s lawyer declined to comment.”
It looks like this is going to drag on throughout the 2019-2020 season.
