It’s been over 15 months since Conor McGregor’s last fight, a submission defeat against Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018.
He made his much anticipated return to the Octagon at UFC 246 and he did not disappoint as he knocked out Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in the 1st round.
McGregor could fight again in the spring and in the fall. He’s open to facing either Tony Ferguson or Khabib Nurmagomedov. Those two are scheduled to face each other at UFC 249 for Nurmagomedov’s lightweight belt.
“I would like to face both of these men,” McGregor said before the fight, adding, “I’d like a bout with Tony at some stage and the rematch, we must make that rematch [with Nurmagomedov]. Both men are certainly in the cross hairs.
McGregor made nearly $100 million in a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather in 2017. McGregor was stopped in the 10th round, but thinks he might fare better in a rematch.

“I thought I did well,” McGregor said. “I won rounds. I hit him more times than Manny hit him. I think with small adjustments in the preparation and a better understanding of what style he’s coming at me with, I think I beat him. I really do think I beat him.”
