It took just 21 months for Ed Orgeron to be on top of the college football world to being at the bottom.
On Sunday, it was reported that the head coach and LSU “reached a separation agreement: He will not return in 2022 but expected to complete this season,” according to a report from Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated.
What made things so dire was that the players did not want to play for him, nor did the coaches on the staff wanted to coach for him.
Over the weekend, Ed Orgeron and the LSU Tigers had a huge 49-42 win over the Florida Gators in a week where the coach was subject to hot-seat talk as the team came in 3-3. The Tigers blocked out the noise, however, and got a huge win over their SEC rival.
LSU won the national title in the 2019 season, with the Tigers going 15-0 this season.
